Tournament policies as published by GCPA. Event-specific notices and exceptions remain part of each event’s record.
The FAQ requires two prior events for the championships; these rules instead describe a 2026 rainout exception for players with GCPA points, including 2025 championship participants. The source does not date the exception. The format says pool play below 10 teams, while the scoring section refers to below 12; the FAQ and scoring section also differ on early losers-bracket matches.
Both versions are retained. Confirm the applicable policy with GCPA.
All players are eligible to play providing they can get into the event based on their GCPA points. Event is filled and seeded based on total team points. If multiple teams enter with zero points, it is first come, first served.
If you are signed up and a team with higher GCPA points enters, you will be moved to the waiting list and refunded.
Maximum entrants is 32 men's and 16 women's teams.
1. Entry Fees: $50 per player
2. Registration & Payment must be turned in by the Friday at 9pm est preceding the event.
3. Late registration will not be allowed.
1. There will be no check-ins for the GCPA. We will begin calling out matches around 8:20 for men and 11:20 for women.
2. Start time is 8:30 AM for Men and 11:30 for Women. Please allow the teams in the first match to warm up on the court if present.
3. No-shows and/or late arrivals lose 1 point per minute from announced start time.
Seeding will use the following GCPA points structure. Final determination of seeding will be at the tournament directors discretion.
1. Points earned are per player not per team.
2. Seedings are based on total team points after registration has been completed.
3. Rankings and points earned are a sum of points of your past 52 weeks of events. After 52 weeks, those points drop off (expire) and are no longer counted in your Overall Points total.
Seeding and randomization takes place after the entry deadline. Randomization takes place as follows:
1-2: Stay the same
3-4: Randomize
5-8: Randomize
9-12: Randomize
13-16: Randomize
17-24: Randomize
25-32: Randomize
Points are awarded to each player upon completion of each tournament.
1st place: 20
2nd Place: 16
3rd Place: 12
5th Place: 10
7th Place: 8
9th Place: 6
13th Place: 4
17th Place: 2
25th Place: 1
Normally, the Championship Event would require individuals to participated in at least 2 events during the season.
However, this year, with so many rainouts, we have decided a player must have GCPA points to be eligible. This would include anyone who has played this year or anyone who played in the championships in 2025.
Men's
1st place: $1000
2nd Place: $400
3rd Place: $200
5th Place: $100

Double elimination bracket play with a modern crossover. Double elimination until the semifinals. The final two teams in the Winners Bracket face the two teams left in the Contenders Bracket in the semis.
Pool Play if less than 10 teams.
Each team is allowed one time out per game. Time outs last for 1 minute.
♦ The Winner's Bracket will be best 2 out of 3 to 11. Switch sides each game, if 3rd game is needed, switch at 6.
♦ The 'Contenders Bracket' will be 1 game to 15, switch at 8.
♦ The Semi-Finals and Finals will be best 2 out of 3 to 11.
If pool play due to lower than 12 teams, it will be determined the week of the event.

Franklin is the official ball of the GCPA. We will be providing Franklin X-40's to be used on tournament day.
1. Each team is responsible to referee the next game on their court after a loss.
2. Some teams may be asked to referee games when the tournament first begins. These teams are in the lower half of the bracket and do not have a game coming up. We will do our best to switch out referee's to not interfere with your warmup.
3. Players can be fined $10 for leaving or refusing to referee a match after a loss. Players will not be allowed to participate in future events until this fee is paid in full.
1. Each participant will be required to fill out a liability form upon registration.
2. Profanity-excessive, loud use of profanity will result in a $10 fine to be assessed any GCPA official. The player will also be assessed a loss of possession and point.
3. Abuse of equipment - players who misuse any equipment will be assessed a fine which represents replacement cost of the equipment plus $50. Player will not be allowed to participate in future events until this fee is paid in full.
4. All fines are due and payable before the player receives payment and the player will not be able to play in another GCPA event until paid in full.
5. Players are expected to make their own line calls. While this is a tournament, we still expect each player to only make 'out' calls when the ball is clearly out.
6. Player suspension for any reason will require a letter of apology before being considered for reinstatement.
